Iona Street Construction Halfway
Iona Street, Edinburgh was granted planning permission in September 2020 for 250 student bedspaces, 60 BTR flat, and 20 affordable homes. Shortly after planning was granted the existing timber yard warehouse was demolished and the main construction began.
Watkin Jones are now halfway through the construction of the buildings and expecting a practical completion date in 2023. Student rooms and BTR flats will be ready for occupation in September 2023 and the affordable housing finished later in the year.
Manson are continuing to provide planning and architectural services to both VITA and Watkin Jones Group throughout the construction of the project and make regular appearances at the site.
We’re looking forward to the second half of the construction programme and the building taking its final form.
