A transformation of the Lansdowne area in Bournemouth into a series of vibrant places

The Holdenhurst Road project was part of a significant masterplan project which covered the western commercial edge of Bournemouth Town Centre stretching from Oxford Road to Christchurch Road.  

The design responds to the vibrant character of the area with the introduction of high quality, well designed buildings that have transformed the area into an energised part of Bournemouth.

The pedestrian routes and spaces around the buildings were designed in such a manner that friendly, safe and active zones were created. The new uses at ground floor also provide a vibrant mix of spaces and active frontages in tandem with external meeting spaces.

Our client team consisted of Watkin Jones Group, Bournemouth University and the Local Authority.  A large focus during the planning process was collaboration with numerous local amenity groups and independent design review bodies. Manson developed the detailed designs and were lead designers in the completion of four sites which were phased in construction from 2015 to 2020.
